Eric,
I wanted to commend you on your recent book "The Modern Jazz Trumpet Method". I have already decided that it will be required of all of my Jazz trumpet students here at The University of Vermont.
Finally someone has filled the void with a true systematic method which addresses the needs of the aspiring Jazz trumpet player. It's already part of my routine. More important, I highly recommend this book to ALL trumpeters regardless of where their focus might be genre-wise.
There are methods books that we trumpeters will always go back to and keep in our arsenal...Arban, Clarke, Schlossberg......I see your new book as a logical inclusion to my set of standard methods.
Thank You,

Hi Eric!
I think you have done an excellent job, and in no way "duplicated" other jazz-based method or etude books. I really like the "basic-four" approach, with the book's four different sections.
Because it has such a strong basis on the technical side of playing,
a total newcomer to jazz can immediately start to learn and
become familiar with less traditional intervals and rhythms - and in so much
of jazz it is the combining of intervals and rhythms into musical ideas
that leads a player to developing their own foundation and vocabulary.

Hi Eric,
Thank you Eric, for writing the Modern Jazz Trumpet Method. I have limited practice time, so I really appreciate having a complete system that helps me with my trumpet technique and jazz development at the same time. I can finally put away all those other books and get what I need from one source. Thanks again!

Hi Eric,
I wanted to let you know that I received your new book, "Modern Jazz Trumpet Method" and am really enjoying going through it. It is really laid out very well with especially nice ii-V-I studies in all keys. I will pass the word to some of my friends and students.
Sincerely,

I like this book a lot. It is a unique combination of jazz content and trumpet technical studies. With a bit of smart application you can really optimize your practice sessions. I especially like the Range Builder section - lots of great material there to work on extending your range in a musical way. There's material here to work on for years - you'll definitely get your money's worth.

Hi Eric,
Been working out of this book for a couple of weeks and wanted to give it a thumbs up!
To try to evolve as a jazz player there are so many things to practice that it could be overwhelming and frustrating. That goal, of becoming a great jazz player, in addition to having to keep the chops in top order is not an easy task.
What is great about this book is that it tells you what, when and how to practice. The routines provide the dual task of giving you new materials to "get under your fingers" while at the same time keeping and improving your chops.
Thanks for putting together this book to provide a map towards success!

Hi Eric-
I just wanted to let you know that I've really been enjoying your book!
It is put together in a progressive organized fashion. Musical, functional and challenging!!
I'm blessed to be working all the time but often don't have hours and hours to shed. Your book has helped me stay fluid! I play through a few things in each section and I've covered a lot of ground. I love the arpeggios, Intervals and range builders!!
Keep up the great work!

Hi Eric!
I love the approach in your jazz book. I have already radically improved my confidence in my improv and I seem to be improving steadily. Very well designed.
The systematic Arban workouts are so good I decided to work my way through them before I take my students through them. Otherwise they might get better than I am!

Just some words about your book The Modern Jazz Trumpet Method:
YOUR book is THE book to practice jazz and technique in the same time for me . I was spending too many time on technique so I wasn't making music. Now I have a solution.

I've been playing trumpet for 35 years and have played in many different types of groups from ensembles, orchestras, big bands and rock bands. I purchased Eric's "The Modern Jazz Trumpet Method"a few months ago and am now on the tenth exercise set (he recommends one set per week). This is great material, puts new notes under my fingers and has made practice time fun. It's not easy material and learning to play each line with excellence before moving is adding needed discipline to my playing. I highly recommend adding "The Modern Jazz Trumpet Method" to your practice routine. The amount of time to dedicate easily fits into an overall improvement plan and leaves plenty of time (and chops) to get through a full set of daily practice routines while really expanding your musical and technical capabilities
Sincerely,
